Geologist Opportunities - Underground Gold Operation

Location: Victoria - residential mine; relocation to the local area is essential
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Operation

Our client operates an underground mine and processing plant, with a workforce of 250+ across professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades roles. The site has a strong focus on safe, efficient work practices and fosters a close-knit community culture.

We're currently recruiting for two geology positions at this site: a Senior Resource Geologist and a Project Geologist. Details for each are below.


1. Senior Resource Geologist
Required Education: Bachelor's degree | Minimum Experience: 7 years

Reporting to the Geology Manager, this is a key leadership role responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant resource estimates while leading and developing the Resource Geology team.

  • Provide daily leadership, mentoring, and development for the resource geology team, including succession planning
  • Lead development, validation, and continuous improvement of geological resource models
  • Ensure compliance with JORC/NI 43-101 reporting standards and drive best practice across estimation techniques
  • Perform grade control, resource estimation, and reconciliation reporting; maintain data integrity and support QAQC
  • Identify infill drilling requirements and support resource conversion drilling programs
  • Manage contractors and ensure delivery against plans and timelines
  • Promote a strong safety culture and WHS compliance, including authority to stop work where needed
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including local landowners

About You: BSc Geology or equivalent; 7+ years in a geology role, ideally underground mining; demonstrated resource estimation, reconciliation, and modelling software experience; proven project delivery and contractor management; demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience; strong communication skills; a proactive, safety-first mindset.


2. Project Geologist
Required Education: 4-year degree | Minimum Experience: 2-3 years

Reporting to the Exploration Superintendent, this role is accountable for scheduling resources to achieve geology department objectives safely, on time, and within budget, combining geological expertise with project coordination and field leadership. The role can move across the wider geology department based on business needs.

  • Lead and deliver exploration and resource definition programs, including drilling, sampling, and data collection
  • Maintain and validate geological databases, resource models, and technical reporting
  • Manage contractors and field activities, ensuring safe and compliant delivery
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, and schedules
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support exploration, resource growth, and mine planning
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to geologists and field staff
  • Promote a strong safety culture and build positive stakeholder relationships

About You: BSc Geology or equivalent; minimum 2 years' experience as a Geologist; diamond core logging and regional exploration experience required; skilled in Micromine or Leapfrog; strong analytical and report writing skills; exposure to gold/antimony desirable.
