We are recruiting on behalf of a leading poultry manufacturer for an experienced FSQA Manager to take ownership of the food safety and quality function at a fully cooked (RTE) processing site. This is a senior leadership role offering the chance to drive standards, influence culture, and make a significant impact within a high-performing business.
As FSQA Manager, you will be responsible for leading the site's food safety and quality strategy, ensuring full compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal standards. You will manage the FSQA team, work cross-functionally with operations, and play a key role in audit readiness and continuous improvement.
Leading the FSQA function across a fully cooked poultry manufacturing site
Ensuring robust implementation and maintenance of HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP systems
Overseeing all CCPs, with a strong focus on thermal processing (lethality) and cooling controls
Managing environmental monitoring programmes, including pathogen control (e.g., Listeria)
Acting as the primary contact for external audits (BRCGS, retailer, and customer audits)
Driving a strong food safety culture across the site
Leading, coaching, and developing the FSQA team
Managing non-conformance, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Monitoring KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Supporting traceability, incident management, and recall readiness
Proven experience in an FSQA or Technical Manager role within food manufacturing
Strong background in poultry and/or RTE (ready-to-eat/fully cooked) products highly desirable
In-depth knowledge of HACCP, food safety systems, and UK regulatory requirements
Experience leading audits (BRCGS, retailer standards, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of microbiology and environmental monitoring
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to influence across departments
