We're partnering with a leading poultry manufacturer to recruit an experienced FSQA Manager for one of their high-volume fresh poultry processing facilities.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the senior site leadership team, you'll be responsible for leading all aspects of Food Safety and Quality Assurance across the facility. You'll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal standards while driving a proactive food safety culture throughout the business.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Live Production, and Supply Chain teams, you'll be instrumental in improving quality performance, reducing risk, and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the site's Food Safety & Quality Assurance function.
  • Manage and continuously improve HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and prerequisite programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, customer requirements, and third-party certification standards.
  • Lead customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready at all times.
  • Oversee microbiological monitoring, sanitation verification, product quality, and process control programmes.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality and food safety issues.
  • Monitor and report on key FSQA KPIs, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build strong relationships across production, engineering, maintenance, and sanitation teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the FSQA team while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support product integrity, animal welfare compliance, traceability, and recall readiness programmes.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as an FSQA Manager, Technical Manager, or Senior QA Leader within food manufacturing.
  • Poultry processing experience is highly desirable; fresh meat or protein manufacturing experience will also be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, USDA regulations, SSOPs, and food safety management systems.
  • Experience leading BRCGS, SQF, customer, or regulatory audits.
  • Strong understanding of microbiological risk management and sanitation programmes.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
