European Market Sales Lead (Defence & Government)

The Opportunity

We are working on behalf of a specialist provider of secure, mission-critical connectivity solutions supporting defence, government and public-sector customers across Europe and allied markets.

This is a senior, hands-on commercial role with responsibility for developing and closing complex opportunities across the European market. The position is newly created and offers significant autonomy, visibility and impact.

This is not a traditional sales leadership role with a large team or heavy internal infrastructure. The emphasis is on personally driving and closing solution-led sales, engaging directly with senior military, government and institutional stakeholders.

Role Scope

  • Own and develop the European defence and government market, with a strong initial focus on key national customers

  • Personally originate, develop and close complex sales opportunities end-to-end

  • Engage directly with senior military leadership, government officials and procurement authorities

  • Position secure, military-grade solutions against commercial alternatives

  • Lead solution-based sales discussions covering technology, services and operational support

  • Navigate long-cycle sales processes, tenders and strategic negotiations

  • Act as a senior external representative with customers, partners and stakeholders

  • Work closely with internal technical and operational teams to support delivery alignment

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a credible, execution-focused commercial leader with experience operating in defence, government or mission-critical environments:

You are likely to bring:

  • Proven experience selling complex technical or solution-based offerings

  • A background working with defence, government, public safety or national security customers

  • Comfort engaging at senior military and executive government level

  • Experience personally owning opportunities from first engagement through to contract close

  • The ability to operate effectively in a lean, high-accountability environment

  • Strong judgement, resilience and a pragmatic, hands-on approach

Experience across secure communications, satellite, mission-critical networks, defence systems or critical infrastructure is particularly relevant.
