The Role

As a PCB Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and integration of embedded electrical systems for uncrewed aircraft platforms. You will architect and validate flight-critical circuits, power systems, avionics interfaces, and embedded electronics that must perform reliably in rugged aerospace conditions.

Serving as a domain expert within the hardware team, you'll lead PCB schematic capture, layout, stack-up design, signal integrity, and manufacturability while working closely with Mechanical, Software, and GNC teams to deliver fully integrated systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving complex challenges involving sensors, radios, power regulation, and embedded computing.

About the Company

Develops advanced aerospace and defense technologies supporting next-generation uncrewed systems. The team works across disciplines to deliver reliable, high-performance hardware and software solutions for mission-critical applications. Here, engineers are empowered to take ownership, collaborate deeply, and see their designs move from concept to real-world deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop multi-layer PCBs for avionics, power regulation, and sensor interfaces
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium (or equivalent tools)
  • Optimize signal integrity, controlled impedance, and thermal performance
  • Own subsystem architecture, component selection, documentation, and release
  • Support DFM/DFT reviews and coordinate with manufacturing partners
  • Participate in and support CoDR, PDR, and CDR design reviews
  • Support prototype bring-up, board-level debugging, and field issue resolution
  • Integrate sensors, radios, autopilots, GPS, datalinks, and embedded compute platforms
  • Support environmental, vibration, thermal, HIL/SIL, and flight-test activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with GNC, Software, Mechanical, Autonomy, Production, and Test teams

  • 3-5 years of PCB design experience (Altium preferred) in aerospace, defense, or UAS
  • Strong background in high-speed digital, mixed-signal, and power integrity design
  • Experience with controlled impedance routing, stack-up design, and IPC standards
  • Proficiency with DRC, signal integrity analysis, and laboratory test equipment
  • Experience owning designs from architecture through integration and release
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-disciplinary communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Rigid-flex PCB design experience
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 or DO-160
  • Experience with RF layout, grounding, and shielding
  • Background in safety-critical hardware, FMEA, or reliability analysis
  • Experience developing test fixtures or automated validation tools

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal alignment.
