Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
We're partnering with a leading global manufacturer to appoint an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for its North American operations.
Based in Delhi, New York, this is a regional leadership role responsible for driving Environmental, Health & Safety strategy across multiple manufacturing sites. You'll work closely with both site leadership and global stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, enhance operational performance, and embed a proactive safety culture throughout the business.
This opportunity is well suited to an experienced manufacturing EHS professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence stakeholders, lead change and deliver continuous improvement across a complex, multi-site operation.
The Role
As the North American EHS Manager, you will:
- Lead the implementation of regional EHS strategy aligned with global standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, health and environmental performance across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Lead regulatory inspections, audits and compliance programmes.
- Develop annual EHS objectives, budgets and key performance indicators.
- Coach and support operational leaders on risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Promote a strong, positive safety culture through visible leadership and employee engagement.
- Protect the organisation's licence to operate by maintaining best-in-class EHS standards.
Key Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading hazard identification and risk reduction programmes.
- Managing OSHA compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Overseeing incident investigations, workers' compensation and return-to-work programmes.
- Ensuring environmental compliance, including:
- Wastewater management
- Air emissions (Clean Air Act)
- Chemical management
- Solid waste management
- Maintaining GMP-aligned safety programmes within manufacturing operations.
- Leading EHS committees and site training initiatives.
- Managing relationships with external regulatory agencies.
- Reporting EHS performance and trends to senior leadership.
- Developing and mentoring site EHS and operational teams.
About You
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance.
- Experience managing environmental compliance programmes.
- Proven experience leading audits and regulatory inspections.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites.
Desirable
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience within food, dairy, ingredients or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
- Experience with filtration, drying and evaporation processes.
