Director of Product Management - Robotics & Automation

Remote/Hybrid

CSG Talent is partnering with an innovative robotics and automation business operating at the forefront of intelligent material handling technology. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Product Management leader to shape the future of autonomous mobile robotics, fleet software, and connected automation solutions used across complex industrial, warehousing, logistics, and manufacturing environments.

This business is developing advanced robotics platforms that combine hardware, software, autonomy, analytics, and services to help organisations improve safety, productivity, efficiency, and resilience across their operations. With continued investment in new product development and expanding market applications, they are looking to appoint a Director of Product Management to define the product vision, lead roadmap strategy, and drive the commercial success of a growing technology portfolio.

The Opportunity

The Director of Product Management will take ownership of product strategy across a portfolio of robotic material handling solutions, working closely with engineering, commercial, operations, and customer-facing teams. This is a highly visible leadership role suited to someone who can balance technical complexity with market opportunity, customer value, and commercial execution.

You will lead and develop a product team responsible for translating customer challenges into scalable, differentiated product solutions. The role will involve defining multi-year product roadmaps, identifying new market opportunities, prioritising development activity, and ensuring products are aligned with customer requirements, safety standards, operational performance, and business growth objectives.

This is an ideal opportunity for a product leader who has experience working with integrated hardware and software products, particularly within robotics, automation, industrial technology, AI-enabled systems, warehouse automation, logistics technology, or advanced manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the product strategy and roadmap across autonomous robotics, fleet management, workflow, and material handling solutions.
  • Work closely with customers and commercial teams to understand operational challenges, market trends, competitive positioning, and unmet customer needs.
  • Translate complex technical and customer requirements into clear product priorities, value propositions, and development plans.
  • Partner with engineering teams across hardware, software, autonomy, systems, testing, and deployment to align product goals with technical delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers, Technical Product Managers, and product-focused contributors.
  • Establish strong product lifecycle processes suitable for complex, hardware-led technology environments.
  • Support go-to-market planning, product positioning, pricing, business cases, and commercial enablement.
  • Evaluate opportunities for new product development, product enhancements, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.
  • Balance technical trade-offs, customer expectations, safety requirements, operational reliability, and commercial outcomes.
  • Act as a senior product voice across the organisation, influencing executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a strategic and commercially minded Product Management leader with experience taking complex technology products from concept through development, launch, scale, and lifecycle management.

You will likely bring experience from one or more of the following sectors:

  • Autonomous Robots, AGVs, AMRs, or warehouse robotics
  • Industrial automation, logistics automation, or material handling systems
  • AI-enabled hardware and software platforms
  • Robotics, machine vision, controls, or connected industrial technology
  • Manufacturing technology, supply chain technology, or smart warehousing
  • Deep tech, mechatronics, or complex engineered products

Experience Required

  • Significant Product Management experience, ideally with leadership responsibility for product teams.
  • Proven track record delivering products that combine hardware, software, and services.
  • Strong understanding of customer-led product development within industrial, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or automation markets.
  • Ability to work confidently with engineering, sales, operations, executive leadership, customers, and external partners.
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, commercial business cases, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including pricing, market sizing, investment prioritisation, and product profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical complexity for different audiences.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, growth-focused technology environment where priorities can evolve.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to join a business shaping the next generation of automation technology for industrial and supply chain environments. The successful candidate will have the chance to influence product direction at a senior level, lead a capable product function, and help bring advanced robotics solutions to market at scale.

For candidates passionate about robotics, automation, AI, and the future of material handling, this role offers the chance to make a tangible impact in a rapidly growing sector.
