Engineering Director - Crushing & Screening Equipment - Northern Ireland

CSG is recruiting on behalf of a leading global manufacturer of crushing, screening, conveying, and material processing equipment for an Engineering Director to lead its global engineering function.

This is a rare opportunity to take responsibility for an established engineering organisation and product portfolio while shaping the next phase of the company's engineering strategy, culture, and product development.

The Role

The Engineering Director will have responsibility for engineering across Northern Ireland, Canada, and India, leading the development of the company's complete product portfolio and operating as a member of the senior leadership team.

This is not a turnaround assignment. The business has an established engineering team, respected products, and continued investment in its engineering capability. The focus is on developing a more scalable and commercially connected engineering organisation capable of supporting the company's long-term growth.

Responsibilities will include:

• Leadership of the global engineering function across Northern Ireland, Canada, and India
• Development and execution of the company's engineering and product development strategy
• Leadership of new product development from initial concept through design, prototype, testing, validation, production, and launch
• Development and continuous improvement of NPI processes, engineering standards, and design governance
• Leadership, coaching, and development of Engineering Managers, senior engineers, and emerging engineering talent
• Building succession and creating greater accountability and decision-making capability throughout the engineering organisation
• Improving collaboration between global engineering teams and reducing dependency on individual subject-matter experts
• Strengthening collaboration between Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Sales, Service, Supply Chain, and other functions
• Increasing dealer, customer, and field-service involvement throughout the product development process
• Ensuring new products meet technical, commercial, manufacturing, quality, safety, and customer requirements
• Driving continuous improvement across engineering systems, processes, technology, and ways of working
• Supporting the continued evolution of the company's crushing, screening, conveying, and wider material processing portfolio

The successful individual will need to combine strong technical credibility with the leadership capability to develop people, challenge established ways of working, and create an engineering organisation that can continue to scale globally.

Candidate Profile

The client is looking for an experienced engineering leader from the crushing, screening, aggregates, quarrying, mining, recycling, mineral processing, bulk material handling, or adjacent heavy equipment sectors.

Direct crushing and screening experience would be particularly relevant, although the company is open to candidates from adjacent product environments involving complex mechanical equipment, hydraulics, fabricated structures, material flow, conveyors, feeders, mobile equipment, or similar technologies.

The successful candidate should offer:

• Significant engineering leadership experience within an OEM or equipment manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical engineering and product development knowledge
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
• A proven track record of taking new products from concept through prototype, testing, validation, and production
• Strong understanding of NPI, design governance, engineering standards, and product lifecycle management
• Experience developing engineers, building leadership capability, and creating succession within engineering teams
• Evidence of improving collaboration between Engineering and other business functions
• A customer and commercially focused approach to product development
• Experience working with dealers, customers, service teams, or end users to incorporate field feedback into product development
• The ability to operate strategically while maintaining sufficient technical credibility to lead experienced engineering teams
• Experience leading engineering across multiple locations or international teams would be advantageous
• A collaborative, approachable leadership style with the ability to influence change within an established organisation
