CSG Talent are currently partnered with a global player operating in construction, energy, telecoms and media who are currently seeking a Design Manager to join their team in France.

Role Overview

As a Data Centre Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in both the pre-construction and execution phases of complex data centre projects. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Department, you will ensure technical excellence, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and bridge the gap between commercial and technical functions.

You will act as the technical guarantor for projects, overseeing the development, validation, and delivery of studies while maintaining strict adherence to client requirements, budgets, and schedules.


Key Responsibilities

Project Execution:

  • Lead and coordinate all trades' design and execution studies for large-scale data centre projects.

  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures, environmental requirements, technical risks, contractual frameworks, and client agreements.

  • Organize study production, validation processes, approvals, interface management, and synthesis.

Commercial & Pre-Sales Support:

  • Serve as the technical liaison for sales teams and support offer preparation.

  • Assemble technical pricing and coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including engineering firms.

  • Supervise internal and external design work, propose optimizations, and provide technical expertise for client meetings.

  • Prepare budgets, schedules, preliminary construction cost estimates, and techno-economic studies.

  • Manage the handover of projects from the pre-construction phase to the works/execution teams.

Key Internal and External Contacts:

  • Clients and project management teams (architecture and engineering)

  • Control and quality offices

  • Construction partners and internal works agencies

  • Internal Data Centre teams (specialists, planners, methods/BIM, legal, pricing)


Candidate Profile

Required:

  • Engineering or university degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in building construction, TCE studies, technical packages, or works.

  • Strong technical acumen with innovative problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational, synthesis, and project management abilities.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Autonomy, rigor, reliability, creativity, and team spirit.
