CSG Talent is supporting our client with a confidential search for an accomplished metallurgical leader to join an innovative company operating within the critical minerals sector.
This is a unique opportunity for a recognised metallurgist to lead the technical direction of an organisation that is supporting mining companies, technology developers and battery material producers with metallurgical process development, laboratory services, pilot campaigns and commercial scale-up.
Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will become the company's senior technical authority, combining deep metallurgical expertise with the ability to build trusted relationships across the industry. This is not a laboratory management role; instead, we are seeking an individual whose technical reputation and industry network can help shape the future growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the company's metallurgical technology strategy.
- Act as the senior technical authority across hydrometallurgical process development and scale-up programmes.
- Provide technical oversight for laboratory test work, process development, flowsheet design and pilot plant activities.
- Advise customers on metallurgical challenges, process optimisation and commercialisation strategies.
- Develop relationships with mining companies, refiners, battery material producers, technology developers and engineering partners.
- Identify opportunities to support customers through metallurgical testing, pilot programmes and technology development projects.
- Work closely with executive leadership to support strategic partnerships and business growth.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, technical committees and customer meetings.
- Mentor and develop multidisciplinary metallurgical and process engineering teams.
You Are Likely To Bring:
- 15+ years of metallurgical experience within critical minerals, base metals, battery materials or related process industries.
- Strong expertise in hydrometallurgy, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or chemical processing.
- Experience managing metallurgical test work programmes and translating laboratory results into pilot and commercial operations.
- Demonstrated involvement in process scale-up, pilot plant development, commissioning or commercial deployment.
- An established network across mining companies, technology developers, EPCM firms and the wider metallurgical community.
- Experience engaging with executive stakeholders, customers and strategic partners.
- A record of solving complex metallurgical challenges and supporting technology development.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of a rapidly growing organisation, leading metallurgical innovation, supporting the commercialisation of next-generation processing technologies, and partnering with some of the most innovative companies across the global mining and critical minerals industry.
