Control Room Operator

Location: Karlsruhe, Germany (Candidates must be based locally or within commuting distance)
Contract: 12-Month Contract (Potential to Convert to Permanent)

CSG are recruiting for a Control Room Operator on behalf of our client to support operations at a newly commissioned battery recycling facility in Karlsruhe.

This role is critical to ensuring safe, stable, and efficient plant operations through real time monitoring and control.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant systems via DCS/PLC/SCADA
• Maintain stable operating conditions and respond to alarms
• Adjust process parameters to optimise performance and quality
• Monitor equipment and report deviations
• Log process data, trends, and operational activities
• Coordinate closely with field operators and engineers
• Support commissioning, start-up, and shutdown activities
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures
• Deliver structured and accurate shift handovers

Candidate Profile

• Experience as a Control Room / Panel / Plant Operator
• Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously
• Clear communicator with a disciplined, process driven mindset
• Experience in chemical, mining, or industrial environments preferred
• Exposure to hydrometallurgical processes beneficial
• German language skills required (minimum B1-B2 level)
• Must be based locally or within commuting distance of Karlsruhe

Qualifications

• Technical/vocational qualification in plant operations or similar
• DCS/SCADA training preferred
• Safety and chemical handling training advantageous
