About the business

A US data centre developer backed by an established real estate development business, delivering large-scale infrastructure for cloud and AI customers.

The business is seeking a Director of Community Engagement to lead engagement around a planned Texas development described as the second-largest data centre project in the world.

The role

You will be the key link between the development team and the local community, building relationships, communicating project plans and ensuring community feedback informs decisions throughout planning and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the community engagement strategy for the Texas project.

• Build relationships with residents, elected officials, local businesses and community organisations.

• Lead public meetings, consultations and community outreach.

• Communicate project milestones, anticipated impacts and local benefits clearly.

• Work with development, construction and communications teams to respond to concerns and resolve issues.

• Develop local partnerships supporting employment, workforce development and community investment.

• Keep senior leadership informed of community sentiment, emerging concerns and engagement progress.

Experience sought

• Experience leading community engagement, stakeholder relations or public affairs for major infrastructure, energy or real estate developments.

• A track record of building trust with communities and local government.

• Confidence managing public meetings, sensitive discussions and competing stakeholder priorities.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex development matters clearly.

• Familiarity with Texas communities and local government would be beneficial.
