Commissioning Manager

About the Company
A privately backed data center developer, investor, and operator with multi-billion-dollar assets under management is seeking a Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical projects across the United States. The business partners with major enterprise clients, offering flexible ownership and leasing structures across its portfolio.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Commissioning, this position plays a key role in delivering commissioning strategy and execution across complex data center builds. The Commissioning Manager will lead and support the integration, testing, and validation of all building systems, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with performance standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and experienced in commissioning mechanical, electrical, and controls systems within data centers or similar high-reliability environments.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute commissioning plans, processes, and procedures for new build projects.
Align commissioning activities with construction, procurement, and engineering schedules to ensure seamless project delivery.
System Integration & Validation
Oversee commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Lead integrated systems testing to confirm performance aligns with design intent and operational requirements.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all commissioning activities meet applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Partner with QA/QC teams to resolve deficiencies identified during testing and verification.
Confirm that systems are properly designed, installed, tested, and prepared for long-term operation and maintenance.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Manage third-party commissioning authorities, including onboarding, scope coordination, field execution, and contract administration.
Serve as a central point of coordination among project teams, contractors, and consultants throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain comprehensive records of commissioning plans, test procedures, results, and issue logs.
Provide structured updates to internal and external stakeholders on progress and performance metrics.
Requirements
Minimum five years' experience in commissioning or QA/QC within data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems commissioning.
Familiarity with applicable commissioning standards and regulatory requirements.
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to lead coordination efforts across multidisciplinary teams.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $130,000 to $170,000, plus performance bonus.
