Melbourne Office | Project Sites Across Victoria

We are partnering with a well-established energy infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across Victoria. With a strong pipeline of renewable, utility and high voltage infrastructure works, they are seeking a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a site-focused role with a Melbourne-based office and regular travel to projects across Victoria.
Importantly, we welcome applications from commissioning professionals coming from mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial, power generation or other high-risk processing environments who are looking to transition into the energy infrastructure and renewables sector.
You will be responsible for executing commissioning activities across HV and associated electrical systems. Working closely with construction, engineering and project teams, you will play a key role in the safe energisation and handover of critical infrastructure.
Perform on-site testing and commissioning of HV electrical systems
Execute commissioning plans and test procedures
Conduct primary and secondary injection testing
Protection relay testing and fault finding
Support pre-commissioning, energisation and final handover
Maintain commissioning records and documentation
Ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards
Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant trade/technical background
Experience in commissioning within substations, renewables, BESS, utilities, mining, oil & gas or heavy industrial environments
Strong knowledge of protection and control systems
Comfortable working in hands-on site environments
Strong understanding of high-risk site safety protocols
Willingness to travel to project sites across Victoria
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
