Commercial Specification Manager

Specification Manager - Western Australia

A leading manufacturer within the building materials sector is seeking a Specification Manager to join its commercial team in Western Australia.

This role focuses on identifying new opportunities by engaging with both new and existing stakeholders, helping increase product awareness across the market. The position centres on building strong relationships with industry professionals while supporting project opportunities and specification outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with architects, builders, fire engineers and fire brigades, energy consultants and other key construction stakeholders
• Identify project opportunities through lead generation platforms and arrange meetings with relevant stakeholders
• Monitor performance indicators such as specification conversion rates and project outcomes
• Track construction market activity and help develop strategies to address potential barriers
• Manage project engagement and opportunities through CRM, ensuring the specification pipeline is properly tracked and followed through
• Build and strengthen long term relationships that support future project opportunities
• Networking at industry events, project meetings, customer functions and trade nights
• Deliver CPD sessions and product presentations to industry professionals based on market activity and business priorities

Candidate Background

• Experience working within a sales environment in the building materials or construction products sector
• Proven sales track record with the ability to develop and convert opportunities
• Demonstrated ability to manage specification opportunities from initial engagement through to project completion
• Understanding of standard construction practices and building systems used across the industry
• Experience using CRM platforms to manage project activity and sales pipelines
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced commercial environment with competing priorities
• Demonstrates professionalism and flexibility, with the ability to contribute independently while also working effectively within a team environment
