Business Operations Engineer

CSG are supporting a fast scaling, venture backed industrial business operating at the heart of the European battery recycling ecosystem is seeking a Business Operations & Commercial Engineer to join its core team.

With a headcount of 25 and growing, the company is continuing to grow and require this position to play a critical role in shaping how materials, data, and commercial activity flow through the business working directly with senior leadership.

This is a high exposure role suited to someone early in their career who wants to operate at the intersection of engineering, commercial activity, and supply chain.

The Role

Commercial

• Develop and manage relationships with international customers for recycled battery materials (black mass)
• Proactively identify and support engagement new clients across Europe and beyond
• Support technical commercial discussions, translating operational capabilities into client value
• Contribute to pricing, proposals, and contract discussions

Operations, Data & Logistics

• Coordinate complex logistics flows, including hazardous material transport and cross border shipments
• Work closely with plant operations to ensure smooth inbound/outbound material flow
• Build and maintain reporting tools (Excel/spreadsheets) to track volumes, costs, and performance
• Support internal reporting and decision making through structured data analysis
• Navigate regulatory requirements linked to battery waste and recycling

The Profile

Key requirements:

• Background in engineering, or a technical/heavy industry environment (logistics, recycling, manufacturing, etc.)
• Strong analytical capability, must be highly confident with Excel and data handling
• Comfortable in a customer facing, outbound sales role
• Ability to operate in a fast moving, startup environment
• Must be fluent in French and English (both required for daily use)

Preferred:

• Exposure to supply chain, logistics, or regulated environments (e.g. hazardous materials)
• Early experience in commercial, operations, or project based roles
