About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across the North American mining sector for an innovative mining technology business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with a strong understanding of the mining industry and a proven track record of selling technology solutions into large-scale mining operations.

You will take ownership of business development across Canada and the United States, building strategic relationships with mining companies, identifying new business opportunities and managing the full enterprise sales cycle. Working closely with an international team, you will play a key role in expanding the company's presence across one of the world's most established mining markets.

The business delivers innovative industrial IoT and machine learning solutions that help mining operations improve fuel efficiency, reduce operating costs, increase productivity and support more sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and sales activities across North America, with a focus on Canada and the United States.
  • Identify, research and develop new business opportunities within the mining and resources sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders across mining organisations.
  • Develop and execute strategic prospecting and outreach initiatives to generate qualified sales opportunities.
  • Manage the full enterprise sales cycle, from initial engagement and discovery through presentations, demonstrations, negotiations and contract closure.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations and demonstrations, both virtually and at customer sites.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing and contract terms to establish long-term customer partnerships.
  • Work collaboratively with product, marketing and customer success teams to align solutions with customer requirements.
  • Monitor market developments, competitor activity and emerging opportunities across the mining technology landscape.
  • Track sales performance, maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline and forecast reporting to senior leadership.
  • Represent the business at relevant mining conferences, industry events and customer meetings.

About You

You are an entrepreneurial and commercially minded business development professional who understands the North American mining industry and knows how to navigate complex enterprise sales environments.

You are confident engaging with senior mining stakeholders, building relationships and translating technical solutions into clear commercial value propositions.

You will ideally bring:

  • 7+ years of successful enterprise sales or business development experience, preferably within mining, resources or industrial technology.
  • A proven track record of selling technical solutions to mining companies across Canada and/or the United States.
  • An established network of contacts within the North American mining industry.
  • Experience managing complex, consultative sales processes and negotiating high-value commercial agreements.
  • Strong technical selling capabilities and the ability to understand and communicate sophisticated technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with mining technologies such as mine planning and design software, equipment automation, geospatial technology and data analytics.
  • Experience with SaaS or industrial IoT solutions would be highly advantageous.
  • Legal authorisation to work in either Canada or the United States.

Location & Travel

This is a remote opportunity open to candidates based in Canada or the United States, with Vancouver or Toronto preferred.

The role will involve regular engagement with mining customers and prospects across North America, including travel to operational sites and industry events.

Candidates should be comfortable with approximately 10-20% travel.
