Assistant Glazing Project Manager

Location: Sterling, VA
Job Type: Full-Time

An established commercial glazing contractor in Northern Virginia is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join its growing team. The company specializes in commercial glazing and architectural glass projects, working with general contractors, developers, architects, and owners across a range of commercial construction projects.

The Assistant Project Manager will support senior Project Managers with the coordination and execution of commercial glazing projects from contract award through completion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial glazing experience who is looking to develop their project management skills and take on increasing responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with the day-to-day management of commercial glazing projects.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
  • Assist with submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and field installation teams.
  • Assist with material procurement and tracking of deliveries.
  • Monitor project schedules and help ensure materials and installation remain on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and tracking systems.
  • Assist with project budgets, cost tracking, and change-order management.
  • Attend project meetings and communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Help resolve field and coordination issues alongside senior project managers.
  • Support project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, and project partners.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of commercial glazing, construction, or project coordination experience preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial glazing systems such as curtain wall, storefront, entrances, windows, and architectural glass.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
  • A motivated, career-oriented approach with an interest in progressing into a full Project Manager position.
