CSG Talent is partnered with a confidential federal technology consultancy supporting mission-critical U.S. government programs. Our client is expanding a high-performing engineering team and is seeking an AI Automation Engineer with hands-on ServiceNow ITSM experience to design and deliver AI-enabled automation solutions within secure enterprise environments.

**This role requires prior experience working with ServiceNow ITSM and an active DHS clearance. Candidates without ServiceNow experience or clearance will not be considered.**

As an AI Automation Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy AI-driven automation solutions integrated into ServiceNow ITSM workflows and other enterprise platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role, focused on integrating AI/ML capabilities into real operational systems used by federal agencies.

You will collaborate closely with product owners, platform teams, and stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment, translating mission and business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions.

As a AI Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled automation workflows integrated with ServiceNow ITSM

  • Build and integrate generative AI and intelligent automation solutions using modern AI APIs and frameworks

  • Deploy and operate AI/ML models in secure, production cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures

  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand workflows, data flows, and operational needs

  • Ensure solutions meet federal security, data privacy, and compliance requirements

  • Implement human-in-the-loop review and control mechanisms where appropriate

  • Maintain clear technical documentation to support system stability, scalability, and reproducibility

  • Follow clean coding standards, DevOps best practices, and responsible AI principles

  • Contribute within an Agile, sprint-based delivery environment

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (U.S.-accredited)

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, intelligent automation, or software engineering

  • Demonstrated experience working with ServiceNow, particularly ITSM-related workflows and integrations

  • Experience integrating systems using RESTful APIs, webhooks, and third-party services

  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model deployment, and lifecycle management

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or Go

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

  • Analytical, structured approach to problem-solving in complex enterprise environments

Clearance Required:

  • U.S. Citizen

  • Active DHS clearance
