Accountant - High-Growth CPG

Location: Libertyville, Chicago.

We are partnered with a high-growth CPG business that is looking to add an Accountant to its team in Libertyville, IL.

This is a hands-on, broad-ranging role within a growing consumer products environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day accounting while also supporting a range of wider finance and administrative responsibilities across the business.

The Role

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including AP, AR, invoicing and payments
• Complete bank, credit card and other account reconciliations
• Support month-end close, journal entries and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Work closely with vendors, suppliers and contractors, including invoice management and payments
• Assist with contractor and vendor administration
• Support external accountants, auditors and tax advisors
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting
• Help maintain and improve accounting processes and systems
• Provide broader finance and administrative support to the business
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects and responsibilities as the company continues to scale

About You

• 1+ years of accounting or finance experience (Strong entry level applicants will also be considered)
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles
• Experience across AP, AR, reconciliations and month-end
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable working with vendors, contractors and external partners
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a high-growth, entrepreneurial CPG environment
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to get involved across the wider business
