CSG Talent Working in Partnership

Doe Run

Today, they operate one of the world’s largest lead mining districts and one of the biggest single-site lead battery recycling centres. Their minerals and metals are the foundation of products and services that deliver essential power in a sustainable and safe manner every day.

CSG Talent began work with the Doe Run company in the last 16 months and the mining recruitment team have already placed multiple candidates. Our Mining, Minerals & Metals consultants work in close partnership with the talent team at Doe run.

The Brief

Doe Run is a global mining company with important requirements when it comes to hiring new team members with specific mining operations experience. Speed and time were essential factors, and the mining team had a short period of time to fill positions; further, they were in very remote locations, which made it harder to find the right candidate who met the company’s requirements and open to relocation for the opportunity.

The positions CSG Talent were recruiting for were vital for the business’s underground mining operations and smelter projects, such as the General Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Environmental Engineer, Mine Planning Engineer, among others. All the positions required candidates with high industry expertise, skills, and experience in order to drive projects and successful results.

The Process

CSG Talent then conducted an in-depth and detailed market map. The Mining recruitment team completed a network and headhunt search in our primary database, accessing a huge talent pool of engaged candidates. To expand the talent pool further, job profiles were advertised on various platforms to reach a wider audience.

CSG Talent conducted numerous phone calls and interviews to candidates located in United States. The mining recruitment team shortlisted candidates based on experience, qualifications, motivation, and desire to relocate - all while remaining in constant communication with Doe Run.

To guarantee efficient communication between Doe Run and CSG Talent, Michal Szypkowski based in Australia, was the main point of contact. Michal leads the recruitment of technical and support disciplines within the mining and metals industry.

To strengthen the relationships between CSG Talent and Doe Run, Michal travelled from Australia to the headquarters office in the United States. He also visited one Smelter project, where he placed three candidates, and the fourth was onboarding. This opportunity to see the offices and mining environment hugely benefits the team having a clear understanding of where candidates will be based for future recruitment campaigns.

The Results

CSG Talent mining recruitment specialists successfully filled seven roles within a short period of time, placing highly qualified candidates with extensive experience, knowledge, and a strong cultural match for the business.

The Mining recruitment team contacted over three hundred candidates to fill the positions and provided approximately two shortlisted candidates per role.

CSG Talent now works in close partnership with Doe Run to develop ways to support their expanding organisation. Our relationship with Doe Run gets stronger day by day and the mining recruitment team continue to be a key player in enhancing the efficiency of Doe Run’s hiring and talent attraction process.
