Founded in 1856, Burberry Group plc. is a British luxury fashion house with a huge international presence. Burberry has a global reputation for its striking design, and sells products ranging from trench coats and fragrances, to sunglasses and cosmetics.
After passing on an excellent senior candidate to Burberry’s General Manager, CSG Talent were put in touch with the company’s HR department. Despite Burberry's initial reluctance to use an external hiring agency due to tight deadlines, they recognized the need to try a different approach to find the high quality of candidates they needed, quickly and efficiently with the support of a talent acquisition partner.
She built strong relationships at all levels of our organisation not only with HR and head office staff but also with line managers and below to ensure greater accuracy and efficiency for all.
With little success recruiting internally from their Hong Kong office, Burberry presented CSG Talent with a listed role to fill as soon as possible. As a major global retail company, Burberry had a high standard to uphold, and with a limited talent pool in this location, and a very specific candidate brief, this role was proving a very difficult hire for them internally.

CSG submitted 2 final candidates to be interviewed, and just 3 weeks after the initial brief, Burberry made their hire. Not only that, the other candidate CSG put forward was also enrolled into a non-listed position, as the company were so impressed. These were candidates who not only fit Burberry’s brief in terms of skills and experience, but also as a strong culture match, allowing them to make an instant impact.
Following this success, CSG made contact with Burberry’s National Manager. They were extremely impressed with our consultant’s work ethic, the quality of candidates put forward and the pace of work, and promptly assigned a second senior role, which was once again filled quickly.
CSG Talent have filled each role they have worked on for Burberry. The vast majority of these positions have required a very specific background, and for candidates to be fluent speakers of Mandarin.
