Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Upper Midwest

About the role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this role plays a crucial role in the LOM Studies & Exploration team, supporting long-term planning and resource management. You will lead the geotechnical engineering aspects of our Life of Mine and Exploration plans and contribute to site projects. Your responsibilities will include scoping, scheduling, and coordinating geotechnical work for various projects and LOM studies. You will also oversee geotechnical mapping, core logging, and QA/QC processes, ensuring the reliability of rock mass and structural data. Your proactive risk analysis and recommendations will be pivotal to the success of mining projects.

About you
The ideal candidate will have considerable expertise in underground mining operations and planning, with a degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field. You must have a proven track record in managing geotechnical risks and are highly skilled in rock mass analysis, risk management, and geotechnical mapping. It is essential you have experience with various mining methods and be proficient in both mining and geotechnical software. You must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, and accurate technical writing and reporting.
