About You: You are an experienced controls engineer eager to lead the design, development, and implementation of automation control systems projects. You are detail-oriented, self-driven, and capable of working autonomously or in a team setting. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to mentor team members and manage project timelines.

The Role The Senior Controls Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems, including providing ongoing support for systems already deployed. This includes:

  • Designing and programming control systems and PLCs, including HMI interfaces
  • Leading control system design, development, commissioning, and testing for various projects
  • Working closely with management on standardizing automation and controls processes
  • Participating in or leading safety hazard analysis for client projects
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting to customers both on-site and remotely
  • Collaborating with mechanical and electrical teams for cross-functional integration
  • Ensuring compliance with both internal and customer standards
  • Domestic and occasional international travel may be required

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a postgraduate degree and have more than 5 years of experience in control systems
  • Have a track record of detailed system design (functionality and controls)
  • Be proficient in PLC configuration, programming, and commissioning (preferably Siemens S7 TIA and Rockwell)
  • Have a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles
  • Possess knowledge of safety systems and functional safety principles

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with robotic palletizing/depalletizing systems
  • Familiarity with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) or Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR)
  • Experience in deploying vision-based solutions
  • Expertise in SCADA system design and implementation
  • Knowledge of other PLC platforms such as OMRON and Schneider
  • Certification in Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) would be advantageous
