Our client is a German company specialising in circular economy solutions, particularly in the automotive sector. Established in 2016, they are focused on sustainable re-manufacturing and recycling processes. They are increasingly engaging in the recycling of Lithium-ion batteries.

They are looking for a Process / Plant Engineer to join their teams in the Regensburg region, to contribute to the growth of their Pilot Plant.

Key responsibilities:

  • Acceptance and commissioning of an innovative pilot plant for the recycling of lithium batteries.
  • Maintenance of machines and systems, handling of technical faults, coordination of necessary maintenance and inspection work.
  • Planning and implementation of processes for plant operation, creation and training of work instructions.
  • Procurement and coordination of services, operating resources and spare parts.
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of key performance indicators (efficiency, availability, resource utilization), continuous optimization of plant processes.
  • Collaboration in the construction of the new site (coordination with property developers, interior design, procurement).
  • Coordination of external experts (e.g. occupational safety, emission control) and authorities.
  • Participation in projects for the further development and expansion of recycling processes.

About you/key qualifications:

  • Completed technical studies (mechanical engineering, environmental or process engineering) or comparable training.
  • Several years of professional experience in the planning and commissioning of manufacturing or process engineering systems.
  • Experience in the field of mechanical waste treatment, battery (cell) production and knowledge of the relevant laws and guidelines is an advantage.
  • Enjoy building new technologies and processes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, an independent and agile way of working and a high level of sense of responsibility.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Very good knowledge of English and German.
  • Good MS Office knowledge (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Good user knowledge of CAD and control technology.
