Position Overview:

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations of the plant to ensure efficient production, safety, quality control, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves managing the production teams, overseeing equipment and process optimization, and ensuring that the plant meets production targets while adhering to budgetary constraints. The Plant Manager will also play a critical role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence and safety within the plant.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:

    • Manage daily plant operations to meet production targets in terms of output, quality, cost, and efficiency.
    • Oversee production schedules and resolve operational challenges to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure the availability of raw materials and maintain inventory control in collaboration with supply chain teams.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead, motivate, and mentor production supervisors, quality control staff, and plant workers.
    • Develop and implement training programs to maintain high safety, quality, and productivity standards.
    • Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and encourage professional growth within the team.
  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and other safety and regulatory standards.
    • Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Work closely with the quality assurance team to maintain product consistency and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
    • Address quality issues quickly and implement corrective actions.
  • Cost Management:

    • Manage the plant's operating budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Optimize labor, materials, and equipment utilization to reduce waste and improve profitability.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Implement lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive improvements in productivity and quality.
  • Reporting & Communication:

    • Provide regular updates to senior management on plant performance, challenges, and achievements.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and R&D to ensure smooth operations.
