Operations Manager - Machined Aluminium Extrusions

Area Covered: UK, Europe and North America
Package: £45,000-£55,000, Strong Bonus, Company Car or Car Allowance, Pension
An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of our clients for an Operations Manager - Machined Aluminium Extrusions.
The business is part of a forward-thinking group of companies who have a very strong and well-respected brand and they see this as a great opportunity to join the organisation as it continues to grow and develop. They have over 40 years' experience, have a global reputation and they take on a lot of work that other company's wont, so they are also very niche. What they do is very specialist and very project based plus they use a lot of modern methods for how they push the brand and business to the wider world.
The ideal candidate will have a strong Operations or Production background with experience in Aluminium Extrusions, alternatively they will look at candidates from a CNC Machining or Machining background, they may also consider applicants from a General Aluminium related background, or they may even be open to looking at candidates from a General Metals or Machining background. The most important aspect of this role is to get someone with a strong Operations or Production manager background who can manage the team and lead from the front.
The business primarily sells into the construction industry, the rail sector, the automotive market, the retail and consumer sectors and they also do some work in the defence sector so experience of selling to the sectors would be good but not essential. Also though, if you have a proven track record in other markets then this will be welcomed and encouraged.
As an Operations Manager - Machined Aluminium Extrusions, you will be responsible for a team of 15 employees which includes 2 team leaders, a production supervisor and you will have indirect responsibilities for the quality manager. You will be measured on improvements to on time delivery, improving the quality performance and putting new processes in place.

You will have strong Operations or Production Management experience in Aluminium Extrusions, CNC Machining or Machining, General Aluminium products or you will come from a General Metals or Machining background.

The potential of the business is huge if the right person comes in and fixes some of the operational issues as well as putting a more robust structure and new processes in place.
