National Sales Manager - Melbourne

Our client is a leading supplier of engineered power transmission products in Australia. Specialising in providing drive systems for heavy industries such as mining, quarrying, metal working, cement and port handling with an emphasis on high dependability.

As the National Sales Manager, you will report into the GM Australia and play a pivotal role in driving business growth across the East of Australia. You will be developing and implementing a sales programme with a focus on developing key accounts and targeting new business, and managing a team of Territory Managers.

Some your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing a sales programme for the region.
* Managing and developing a team of Territory Managers.
* Maintaining and developing strong relationships with key current accounts.
* Further development of the Engineering Consultant customer base for the mining industry.
* Providing gear drive selection expertise and technical support.
* Preparing proposals and quotations to secure new business.
* Effectively account managing your client portfolio.
* Driving sales into industries including but not exclusive to food & beverage, packaging and conveying, water & waste-water and intralogistics.

The successful candidate will have:
* Experience as a people development manager in a similar sales related role.
* Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach.
* Hunter mentality as well as strong account management experience.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of power transmission and or industrial-bearing products.
* Technical sales experience with mechanical or electromechanical industrial products including Mechanical gearboxes, electric motors and variable speed drives - desirable but not essential.
* PC skills and strong numeracy including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
(Word, Excel).
