Position Overview: My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Materials Scientist with a strong background in silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in materials science, particularly in the development, characterization, and optimization of silicon-based anode materials. This role will involve working closely with our R&D team to improve the performance and scalability of our silicon anode technology. Experience with silicon anode materials is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimization of silicon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
  • Conduct in-depth materials characterization using techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, and electrochemical analysis.
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate the performance and durability of silicon anodes.
  • Collaborate with external partners and research institutions to stay at the forefront of silicon anode technology.
  • Analyze experimental data and provide detailed reports and presentations on findings.
  • Contribute to the scale-up process for silicon anode production.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate silicon anodes into battery prototypes.

Qualifications:

  • D. or M.Sc. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in silicon anode research and development.
  • Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery chemistry and materials science.
  • Proficiency in materials characterization techniques (e.g., XRD, SEM, TEM).
  • Experience with electrochemical testing and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to join an early-stage start-up.
