Job Summary:

The General Manager will oversee the daily operations and commercial activities of the meat processing facility. This role requires a strong background in both operational management and commercial strategy, ensuring the facility runs efficiently while meeting production goals and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the meat processing facility, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and maintain operational procedures to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitor production schedules and manage resource allocation to meet customer demands.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce costs.
  • Manage inventory control, ensuring proper stock levels and minimizing waste.

Commercial Management:

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers to enhance business opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business strategies.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to align production capabilities with customer requirements.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of employees across various functions.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes teamwork, safety, and professional development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ensure team members meet performance standards.
  • Ensure proper training and development programs are in place for all staff.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Animal Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in meat processing or food manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of both operational processes and commercial strategies in the meat industry.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control processes.
