Would you like the opportunity to work for a Global toy business who are currently expanding their UK presence?

My client is a well-known Toy business, originally set up in the US. They are looking to add an Account Manager to their UK team who will be responsible for dealing with a very key account for them, Smyths. You will be based in their UK office and will work on a hybrid basis, but will be working closely with the other Smyths account managers across the globe.

The role

As the Account Manager for Smyths Toys you will act as the first point of contact for all UK/I business with the customer. You will service the account to the highest level, and aim for YoY growth. You will work closely with other account managers in the business to outline a strategy for the Smyths business.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage Smyths at a high level
  • Brief and present on all new product launches
  • Regularly visit the customer (avg once per quarter)
  • Work with marketing to develop a target plan and schedule campaigns
  • Evaluating key online activity, looking at metrics and how to boost the sales
  • Work with the customer on product pricing, product placement
  • Keep an eye on competitor products

Ideal Candidate

You will already be an experienced Account Manager with current or previous experience of managing a customer like Smyths, The Entertainer or a comparable account at a high level. It could also be that you have been managing various other accounts, but have co-supported on Smyths.

Key requirements

  • Previous experience working on Smyths or The Entertainer
  • A 'can do' attitude
  • Driven to deliver
  • Able to manage own workload
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Experience within Toys, Gaming or Gifting (other consumer businesses to be considered)
