Their team is seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Studies Engineer to join their Energy business in the Americas region to help them to continue to provide exceptional services to our clients in the Energy sector.

Job Description:

Our Client are looking for a Senior Power Systems Studies Engineer to join our growing team in the Americas. The ideal candidate will have a track record in delivering system studies projects and will be responsible for supporting renewable developers, ISO/RTO, transmission developers, government agencies and utilities. As a Senior Power Systems Studies Engineer, you will be responsible for providing hands-on delivery of power system studies, including generation and load interconnection studies, load flow studies, transfer analysis and short circuit studies. You will also be responsible for reviewing and modifying steady state PSS/E models as needed for project-specific applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute load flow and steady state studies, evaluation of transfer capability and security limits and short-circuit/fault studies to national and international standards.
  • Conduct and deliver transient stability analysis. Experience in EMT studies is considered a plus.
  • Power System modelling - experience in PSS/E required and knowledge of ASPEN OneLiner, PowerGEM TARA and PSCAD is considered a plus.
  • Remain up to date with ISO/RTO shifting market rules associated with system studies, reliability and other interconnection requirements.
  • Assist in developing new automated techniques to optimize the studies work and deliver efficiency and quality.
  • Solid quality check capability of models and results to maintain the highest level of quality services
  • Produce and/or review quality technical reports and presentations for both internal and external clients.
  • Internally collaborating and proactively engaging with clients and contractors to prepare high quality, technically efficient and cost-effective project solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients and partners.
