Our well established Recruitment Academy is a one-of-a-kind, paid, three to six month training programme designed for graduates, career changers or those who have one or two years of experience within the industry and want to develop themselves in a safe space where they'll feel supported.
The Academy blueprint will take each cohort through theory and practical based skills on headhunting, advertising, sales, negotiating, pitching and account management, with the flexibility to mould your role throughout. All with a focus on graduating from the Academy and becoming a fully fledged industry expert at CSG Talent. Here are two of the most popular routes:
Consultants cover the full 360 approach to recruitment. They deliver everything from both a client and candidate perspective; business development, head hunting, interviewing, negotiating right through to placing the candidate.
Recruitment Researchers follow a more focused line of work, specialising in the candidate side of the role. The main purpose of Researchers is to support Consultants in sourcing, interviewing and building relationships with potential candidates.

The recruiters I’ve trained have really benefited from the supportive environment in which they can learn, practise, make mistakes and grow. Everyone’s in the same boat, so they can make those embarrassing first calls or mess up during a practice session - they’re in a safe space where they can reflect, discuss with the group, and move on.
I found the transition from the recruitment academy to the mining team very smooth and well structured. Having been supported by both Steph and the Mining Team throughout the full training period, it was a natural progression into the wider team. Regular meetings with the Mining Team from the onset allowed me to understand the industry, and really get to know my market in detail, alongside the training with Steph in the academy which allowed me to apply and put into practice techniques and approaches.
I believe that the CSG academy is genuinely a unique concept that provides a level of support not seen in the recruitment market in general. Being part of the training academy here at CSG has enabled me to gain a thorough understanding of the recruitment industry through dedicated weekly training from Steph alongside regular 1 to 1 training and seminars led by various personnel within the business. The transition from the academy to building my own desk of business has been prudently handled by Steph and Adam in ensuring I have developed the right skill set to be able to contribute effectively to the team whilst being fully supported and able to receive guidance and training on anything I need further support on.
I wanted a change and new challenge in my career, and I was really drawn to recruitment. You can expect a call from Steph to discuss your CV (experience gained to date, education and just generally to find out a little bit more about you). This is also a chance for Steph to tell you more about the Academy and answer any questions you have.
You’ll then be invited to a 1st stage interview and if successful you will come back for a 2nd stage interview consisting of some practical tasks for you to complete (to give you a flavour of the some of the tasks you’d carry out as a Consultant) and you’ll also meet the Manager of the team you could join who will tell you more about the industry they work in.
Absolutely! If you are offered a spot on the programme with us, you will get a permanent contract and be paid for all of your training as standard.
The Academy is made up of two modules, one that lasts eight weeks if you join as a Resourcer/Candidate Consultant and another that lasts 16 weeks if you join in a 360° Recruiter position as this includes Sales and Client Relationship training.
The good news is that you will join the Academy with 5-7 other like-minded people who are likely to be at the same stage in their career as you. Despite the Academy training programme being a different route into recruitment, from day one you'll be part of the CSG family and are included in everything we do from socials, to incentives - which are a great way to get to know the wider team.
We offer lots of different training styles and techniques so that the training is varied and remains interesting. This includes classroom & video learning, team work and group discussions as well as on-the-job, practical training. Throughout your training you will be building your network of candidates and introducing yourself to businesses in your industry which will be setting yourself up for taking and placing your first vacancies.
When you graduate out of the academy it will be on the basis that you are a fully capable and fully trained Resourcer/Consultant and you will be able to join your team & manager, working closely with them each day. You will still receive ongoing support from Steph in the Academy through 121s and refresher training. This support and training is available throughout the first 12 months of your new career.
From day one in the Academy you're a part of the CSG family. Whether it's a company incentive, a social, a tournament in the kitchen, an early finish - it's up for grabs for you too. In recent years we've celebrated success by going on European city breaks, taking trips to the races, doing team building days, charity events and so much more, and it's your call whether you get stuck in and join us!
As you settle in to your role and new team, you'll have the chance to build your career up in whichever way you choose - there's more than one path. If you start in one role, there's no reason why you can't switch or scope out something new. Our transparent management style at CSG allows for open and honest conversations with Steph or your industry team manager.
