Night Shift: 12am - 8.30am

The role:

  • Coordinate and control the manufacturing processes in the facility and provide day to day leadership and coaching to team members to ensure achievement of business results via effective management of team resources and optimization of the production process.
  • This is an all-encompassing Shift Manager role where you will be training, coaching, supporting and leading all team members in the area to ensure safe work practices at all times. Management of all day-to-day floor operations within the Supply Chain Outbound area.
  • Co-ordinate and supervise activities to optimise the use of people and equipment resources.
  • This role contributes to the development and continuous improvement of all warehouse operating procedures.
  • Supervise direct report and take full responsibility for the team and functions of the Dry Goods and Crate Room. There is also a requirement to work for 1 weekend day per month.

Essential experience needed:

  • A minimum 3-5 years' experience in a production supervisor or team leader role in food or fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideally within a fresh packed processing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of the food processing industry and food safety/HACCP /GMP principles
  • Strong understanding of high-speed automatic food packaging machinery
  • Experience in production planning, stock control and resourcing
  • Experience dealing with shop floor issues raised by employees or their representatives
  • Good IR/ER experience
  • Confident interpersonal communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, deadline driven organisation
  • Experience leading and developing large teams
  • Resilient with a proactive commitment to continuous improvement
  • Comfortable with shift work/ weekend work/early starts
  • Degree qualification in Engineering/Food Technology (or equivalent)
  • Mechanical aptitude to assist
  • Forklift license

Desirable:

  • Experience in the FMCG/ Short Shelf life space
  • WMS experience
  • Solid MS Word and Excel skills
  • Analytical ability and problem solving (root cause analysis, process improvements & corrective actions)
