This is an important operative role, responsible for the movement of goods between Germany, Australia and Asia. primarily based at our production facility in Riverwood, NSW.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and actively manage all import and export shipments, from shipper to consignee.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with supply chain partners, including freight forwarders.
  • Administer shipment documentation, including packing lists and commercial invoices for export.
  • Calculate and provide quotations for special shipments and/or projects.
  • Review and actively manage standard shipment costs charged to the customer, across Asia Pacific.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure time, cost and quality performance.
  • Analyse logistics data and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Drive operational efficiency, particularly through process optimisation and sound financial management.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years logistics and/or supply chain experience, preferably including within a freight forwarding environment.
  • Experience with all modes of shipment, including sea, air and rail.
  • Proficient in ERP Systems, including SAP (SD).
  • Proficient in Office 365 (Teams, Planner, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations.
  • High attention to detail and strong ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and drive for continuous improvement.

This is a very hands-on role, initially without any direct reports, but working closely within a small operations team, servicing the Asia Pacific region.
